Hello everyone! This announcement is long overdue. VetSec is moving forward with our non-profit initiative.
Today, we registered for non-profit in hopes of gaining a more traction and helping us solidify a more official purpose.
With that being said, we’ve set up a Patreon page to help cover costs for future endeavors. If you can spare a few dollars a month, please consider doing so. The page is: https://www.patreon.com/vetsec.
We intend to use the funds to cover the cost of a premium Slack (if deemed as the driving factor) and use the additional funds to help towards our initiative of a Con.
As we grow, we hope to use the funds for scholarships, trainings, materials, travel costs, etc. for members in need here.
Every dollar goes a long way. Lastly, once donations start flowing in, we plan on opening a page via Open Collective so you can see where the funds are going at all times.
Vetsec Becoming a Non-Profit!

Great news. I just found this page recently. I’m a 10th Mtn infantry vet and did 6 yrs as a contractor. I am currently enrolled in an IT security course at my local college, and do self study as well. Digging your youtube channel as well. Take care.

Glad to hear that! Welcome to the community. If you haven’t joined out slack, I would definitely check it out! Just fill out the form on our slack page on this site. 🙂
Are you able to accept GI Bill?
Hi Guys,
Have been seen CM videos on youtube for a few weeks ago. I felt greatly inspired to pursue professionally what has been a life-long passion. I am currently in a network security role in the Enterprise. After seeing CM’s content I immediately enrolled in eCPPTv2 to put in practice LAW 28. I would love to give back to the community and other professionals in the IT field. How can I contribute to the VetSec initiative with my skills and time? I am bilingual in Spanish and would love to help bring this amazing content to a wider audience!
Please let me know how we can get in touch.

Learned about you guys from Mr. Adam’s YouTube Channel Cyber Mentor.
Currently in the process of transition out from Active Duty and getting certified to find a job in the Cyber Security field.
I’m late to the party, so you may already know this: as a non-profit, you may benefit from Slack’s benevolence. Have a look here: https://slack.com/help/articles/204368833-Apply-for-the-Slack-for-Nonprofits-discount
Requires a TechSoup account. I’ve had experience establishing this for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It’s a little involved, but not impossible. https://www.techsoup.org/
