The following resources have been supplied by our members to help the veteran and military community at large.  Appearance here does not constitute endorsement or vetting by VetSec.

In free courses taught by cybersecurity practitioners, students gain realistic, hands-on experience in building a threat-informed defense to improve cybersecurity effectiveness.  AttackIQ Academy includes foundational, intermediate, and advanced courses in operationalizing MTRE ATT&CK among others. Detailed learning paths guide students as they achieve course badges and certifications. This is provided as a public service.

Similar to Hack The Box, but for defenders, BlueTeam Labs also has the BTL1 certification, popular for entry-level SOC Analysts.

Skillsyncer is a free resume keyword scanner and job application tracker for job seekers.  This tool identifies skills and keywords missing from your resume when compared to a job description.  One year free access for Military and Students.

This is the annual CTF held at Splunk’s conference but there is now an online experience for people to go through tutorials and gives a lot of hands-on experience with tools used in large organizations.

VeteranRehab.org is a nationwide resource for finding substance use treatment, recovery, and mental health services for Veterans. Their helpline services are free and confidential. (866) 928-6339
